The dynamic online world has captured everyone and anyone. If you are not taking advantage of it, then the wonders of technology would leave you behind. Online dating is now fast becoming a fad. Couples are actively and deliberately "dating" online through social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
Twitter and Facebook are online social sites. Twitter is a micro blogging site where you "tweet" 140 words as an answer to a simple question "What are you doing?". You could tweet this either to the public or to a private individual.
In this scenario, it brings in a different dimension because the couple could participate in the public place every now and then if they so desire. They could chat privately and date out of the public's eye. They could emerge every now and then to participate in the group conversion. It is a fun way of dating because you could go on a group date and still be as private as you wish. There is no cam involved though, and you can not categorize it fully as dating because of the absence of human contact, but for millions of couples who communicate only online, this is a good venue.
The other venue is Facebook. This is a more interactive site, because there are no limits to the number of words you can use to communicate. You could write a lengthy private message to your date. You could also interact through several applications found on the site, like their wall posting, where you can have a public conversation with him / her. Many young people take advantage of this by proclaiming publicly their love for each other, which is sweet and cheesy. They could also interact with each other through the games like Farmville, Yoyville, Fishville, Mafia Wars and others, by assisting each other, sending gifts and coins to help each other. They could also visit each other's posting and comment or show their approval by ticking on the "Like" tab.
Indeed, online dating need not be limited to Yahoo messenger or Skype chats where there is only the two of you interacting online. It is more exciting to be doing something "naughty" with your date, while simultaneously interacting publicly.
The only thing you have to prepare for these types of online dates is to know all the applications available for the particular site, so you could maximize these. Remember to never allow a lull of conversation as this may reduce your online dating to a disrupted flow of ideas and conversation. It is always best to have a witty remark or two tucked in the folds of your sleeves in case you are both speechless, or you could always shift to the public venue when conversation starts to dwindle. The important thing is to enjoy your online date.
