There is no question that going through a break up is incredibly difficult. However, if you want to ever get your ex back, then you are going to have to come to terms with what has happened. The good news is that 90% or more of all relationships can be saved if you are willing to do whatever it takes. There are several things that you will need to do, and it will not always be easy … but if it means the two of you work things out and get back together, then it will be more than worth it.
Take a break. Do your best to not think about your ex or the break up for a while. This will take quite a bit of effort, but it's only temporary. One thing that will help you do this is to not contact them for a while. This includes no emails, text messages, telephone calls or bumping into them "accidentally". You need some time alone and so does your ex.
Buck up! A big mistake a lot of people make when trying to get their ex back is to go crawling to them; begging and pleading and promising to do anything they want. While they may succumb to your begging, it will not last. And even if it does, things will only be worse than before. Instead, you need to approach your ex with confidence. You both also need to be fair and willing to compromise as you work things out.
Another you need to do is take action. If you really want your ex back, then you can not wait around for them to come to you. Yes, you need to give them some time alone, but you can not live in a fantasy world where they magically call you up and say they want to get back together. While it is possible for you to make that happen, it will require some effort on your part.
