If your boyfriend is a player you may think there’s nothing you can do to get him to commit to only you. You may be wrong about that. Granted some men just aren’t interested in a one-on-one union but many are. One of the reasons your boyfriend may still talk to, date and enjoy time with other women is because you are turning a blind eye. If your boyfriend’s behavior is hurting you or is causing you to question whether or not you need him in your life, there are things you can do right now that will make him take you and the relationship more seriously.
When your boyfriend is a player and you are aware of it, how you handle yourself tells him a lot about your own self esteem. If you are out with your boyfriend and you see him making eye contact with other attractive women there’s one thing you need to be doing at that instant. Point her out to him. Say something nice about her. Some good examples are “wow, look at how pretty that woman over there is” or “I just love the color of her dress.” If you do this you instantly diffuse the situation in a couple of different ways. When you point her out, she becomes less interesting to him. Part of the fun of flirting while with you is that he thinks you’re oblivious to it. The other benefit of complimenting her is that it makes you look incredibly confident.
You also need to play a little harder to get with him. Many women overcompensate when they are with non-committal men by constantly being available to them. If your boyfriend is a player you need to engage in a little “monkey see, monkey do” behavior. This doesn’t mean that you should be out with a different man every night but you do need to give off the illusion that you’ve got other options. Don’t pick up each time your boyfriend calls and disappear for a few hours at a time every now and again. Once your boyfriend realizes you aren’t sitting there waiting for him to throw you a bit of attention he’s going to get busy trying to impress you all over again. The old adage about giving someone a bit of their own medicine works incredibly well in this case.
